Refund Policy
Membership Fees & Refunds
Surrey Rams Basketball Club commits significant resources before the season begins, including venue hire, coaching staff, league entry fees, Basketball England affiliation, equipment, administration and programme planning.
For this reason, please read our refund policy carefully before registering your child.
Season Deposit
The £100 season deposit secures your child's place within the Surrey Rams programme.
Once a place has been accepted and confirmed, the season deposit is non-refundable, except where Surrey Rams is unable to offer the agreed programme.
Membership Fees
Membership fees contribute towards the delivery of the programme and include costs such as:
• Professional coaching
• Venue hire
• League entry fees
• Basketball England affiliation
• Equipment
• Administration
• Club development
For players joining during the season, membership fees will normally be calculated on a pro-rata basis.
Player Withdrawal
Membership fees become non-refundable once the season has started.
Refunds will not normally be provided if a player:
• Chooses to leave the club.
• Joins another basketball club.
• Changes to another sport or activity.
• Withdraws for personal reasons.
• Is unhappy with team selection or playing time.
This policy enables the club to continue meeting its financial commitments throughout the season.
Injury & Medical Circumstances
Basketball is a physical contact sport and injuries can unfortunately occur.
• Short-term injuries will not normally qualify for a refund.
• Genuine season-ending injuries or serious medical circumstances may be reviewed individually.
Where appropriate, Surrey Rams may, at its discretion, offer a pro-rata refund or alternative arrangement depending on the circumstances. Each case will be considered on its own merits.
Uniform Orders
All Surrey Rams playing uniforms are personalised and manufactured to order.
Once an order has been placed, uniforms cannot normally be cancelled, exchanged or refunded unless the item is faulty or supplied incorrectly.
Basketball England Membership
Basketball England membership and licence fees are administered separately by Basketball England.
Any refunds relating to Basketball England membership are subject to Basketball England's own policies and procedures.
Match Fees (CVL Players)
Central Venue League (CVL) membership does not include individual match fees.
Match fees are charged separately for each fixture and help cover:
• Court hire
• Referees
• Table officials
• League administration
Match fees are normally collected 2–3 days before each fixture. Players whose match fees have not been received by the stated deadline may not be selected unless alternative arrangements have been agreed in advance.
Code of Conduct
Membership of Surrey Rams is conditional upon players and parents following the Club's Codes of Conduct.
Where a player is suspended or removed from the club following a serious breach of the Club's Code of Conduct, membership fees already paid will not normally be refunded. This is consistent with the Surrey Rams Player Code of Conduct.
Exceptional Circumstances
We understand that unforeseen circumstances can arise.
Any request for a refund outside this policy should be submitted in writing to the club. Requests will be reviewed by Surrey Rams Basketball Club and considered on a case-by-case basis. Any decision made by the club will be final.

This Refund Policy is reviewed annually. Surrey Rams Basketball Club reserves the right to amend this policy where necessary. Any changes will be communicated to members before taking effect.
